The Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square 1/2-BALL CRUISER MAX Putter is a model that embodies all of Odyssey’s latest technology and modern trends. The MAX type head features a large rear section, suggesting a high moment of inertia. The front of the top surface features a newly developed half-ball alignment mechanism for accurate setup, while the face is equipped with an AI-designed Ai-DUAL insert. Like the Ai-ONE insert, it maintains consistent ball speed even on off-center hits, while generating more forward spin (clockwise rotation) regardless of impact point compared to previous models. By reducing the impact of turf grain and slope, you can aim for a thinner line (less curvature) toward the cup. It makes it easier to achieve the intended distance and direction, greatly increasing the likelihood of hitting the ball in the cup. The black STROKE LAB shaft connects to the center of gravity for zero torque and toe-up characteristics, while its longer shaft length allows for a more stable stroke, consistent rhythm, and tempo. The lineup consists of two types: a 38-inch model and a 45-inch BROOMSTICK version with two separate grips, and both are limited edition models.

The Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square 1/2-BALL CRUISER putter is a longer-length version of the Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square 1/2-BALL putter, offering
greater stroke stability thanks to the semicircular design. The front of the head features a half-ball alignment mark. The semicircular design, with a straight front and a curved rear, makes it easier to sense misalignment between the face and ball when positioned more than perfectly circular. By aligning the ball with the center alignment line, more accurate setup is possible. A pilot study was conducted by golf clubs at two American universities, involving 52 participants and 1,060 putts. The results were very positive, with improvements in face orientation at address and more consistent putting direction. Furthermore, the putter achieved 1.13 out of 10 successful putts from approximately 2 meters compared to conventional putters.
The face
is equipped with the Ai-DUAL insert, which was perfected after approximately 15,000 simulations and 72 prototypes. Unlike the Ai-ONE insert and Ai-ONE Titanium insert, the Ai-DUAL insert is made entirely of resin, with a soft resin on the side that strikes the ball and a hard resin on the inside.
The Ai-DUAL insert, which not only stabilizes ball speed but also generates more forward spin,
features a complex, winding shape at the interface between the two resin layers, similar to the underside of the Ai-ONE insert. This was developed by AI with a focus on not only the Ai-ONE insert’s consistent ball speed regardless of impact position, but also the spin imparted to the ball. Generally, due to the gear effect, a ball tends to spin clockwise when it hits the upper part of the face, and backspin when it hits the lower part. Naturally, this also affects the ball’s rolling distance. The Ai-DUAL insert is designed to impart stable forward spin regardless of whether it’s hit on the upper or lower part of the face. Furthermore, because the bottom of the insert is flush with the sole, the distinctive shape between the two resin layers, created by AI, is more visible than the Ai-ONE putter, which has a clear polycarbonate window.
The isosceles triangle-shaped grooves also contribute to the forward spin and excellent roll.
The Ai-DUAL insert also features a new groove, the FRD (Forward Roll Design) groove, which contributes to the excellent roll. Unlike the Ai-ONE insert, the cross section has a unique shape consisting of a series of right-angled triangular depressions. The area where the ball hits the ball is angled 19 degrees from the vertical.
The Ai-DUAL insert offers a feel and sound closer to the White Hot insert
. The Ai-ONE insert was developed to be similar to the White Hot insert, but some users complained that it was “harder” and “higher-pitched” than the White Hot insert, likely due to its resin and aluminum construction. The Ai-DUAL insert is made entirely of resin, so it’s designed to have a softer feel and a lower sound than the Ai-ONE insert. The improved feel is also due in part to the adoption of the FRD grooves mentioned above.
The BROOMSTICK Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square 1/2-BALL CRUISER putter is available in 38-inch and 45-inch
lengths. The head features a large, fan-shaped rear section, making it a MAX type with a high moment of inertia. The lineup includes two versions: a 38-inch version and a 45-inch BROOMSTICK version. Both shafts feature black STROKE LAB shafts: the 38-inch model features a STROKE LAB 140 shaft, while the BROOMSTICK model features a STROKE LAB 180 shaft. To achieve zero torque, the shaft is positioned slightly away from the face, with the head’s center of gravity centered between the toe and heel. Because the face extends significantly forward from its mounting position, it is tilted diagonally toward the ball’s flight path. There is no left-handed model available, and customization is not possible.
