This will be the first time since February 2024 that an additional model will be released for the mallet model “Ai-ONE Putter,” which has its own distinctive personality
. Last time, seven models were added to the original five models, but this time there are only three models, all with completely new head shapes. “WING BACK” has a head that resembles the rear of the former TEN series and ELEVEN series spread out like an airplane wing, and the neck is double bent. The sole weights are attached to the toe and heel in the middle. “24” is a mallet type with a shape reminiscent of the body of a sports car or racing car. Another characteristic is that the center part of the top of the head is recessed from the front to the back, and the alignment in this recess is in a style called racing stripes, which have been drawn on many famous sports cars and racing cars. One sole weight is installed at the rear, and the neck is short slant. The name 24 comes from the record of being the most used on the American PGA Tour for 24 consecutive years. The “2-BALL JAILBIRD MINI” is a combination of the popular 2-BALL BLADE and JAILBIRD, with a double bent neck and sole weights on the front toe and heel.
AI insert prevents ball speed loss
The insert of the Ai-ONE putter has an AI-designed aluminum part with complex ridges layered on the back of the plastic part on the impact side. Normally, it is said that if the impact point is shifted by 1 cm to the toe or heel, the ball speed will decrease by about 20% (2 meters short on a 10-meter putt). However, the effect of the ridges in the aluminum part is to prevent the decrease in ball speed by about 5% (50 cm short on a 10-meter putt). In addition, the plastic face surface has grooves engraved on it, which is a process to make the feel and sound of the White Hot insert closer to that of the White Hot insert, and the actual feeling is also at the same level as the White Hot insert.
Each head of the Ai-ONE putter also features a process that allows you to enjoy the differences in technology that have never been seen in clubs or putters before. The three new models have a transparent
polycarbonate window at the front of the sole, through which you can see the complex ridges of the AI design formed on the back of the insert.
The “STROKE LAB 90 Shaft” is made entirely of steel.
The body with the AI-designed insert is made of stainless steel, and the head is finished in dark blue PVD. The shaft is Odyssey’s unique STROKE LAB shaft, which has been completely redesigned to match the “Ai-ONE Putter”. The previous STROKE LAB shaft was a composite shaft of steel and carbon, but while tour players said, “I still prefer a steel shaft,” they also said, “But I also want the stability of the STROKE LAB shaft.” In response to these opinions, the new “STROKE LAB 90 Shaft” attached to the “Ai-ONE Putter” is made of steel and is lightweight at around 90g, while the butt section is designed to be the same thickness as the previous STROKE LAB shaft. By reducing the torque, it is designed to suppress unnecessary movement of the shaft during the stroke. In addition, a counterweight is also installed inside the shaft on the hand side. This increases the moment of inertia of the entire putter, making it easier to achieve a consistent and stable stroke.
