The popular Zero Torque model now features the latest alignment technology, which clearly identifies setup errors. The Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square 1/2-BALL Putter features a MAX-type head with a large fan-shaped rear section and a white half-ball alignment with a black line at the front of the top surface. The shaft is mounted just behind it at the center of gravity, maintaining a toe-up position throughout the stroke. Of course, the face features the latest Ai-DUAL insert, which combines two resins with a complex curve designed by AI. Like the Ai-ONE insert, it maintains ball speed stability even on off-center hits, while generating more forward spin (clockwise rotation) regardless of impact point compared to previous models. This reduces the impact of turf grain and slope, allowing you to aim for the cup with a thinner line (reading the ball curve less). It makes it easier to achieve the intended distance and direction, significantly increasing the chances of hitting the ball in the cup. The putter is available in 33- and 34-inch lengths, with the 34-inch version available for left-handed players only. It is paired with a black STROKE LAB 120 shaft.

The Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square 1/2-BALL putter is a zero-torque version of the Ai-DUAL 1/2-BALL putter, boasting significant benefits from the semicircular design
, which is composed of straight and curved lines. The front of the head features a half-ball alignment mark. The semicircular design, with a straight line at the front and a curved line at the back, makes it easy to sense misalignment between the face and ball when positioned more than perfectly circular. By aligning the ball with the center alignment line, more accurate setup is possible. A pilot study was conducted by golf clubs at two American universities, involving 52 participants and 1,060 putts. The results were very positive, with improvements in face orientation at address and more consistent putting direction. Furthermore, the putter achieved 1.13 out of 10 successful putts from approximately 2 meters compared to conventional putters.
The face
is equipped with the Ai-DUAL insert, which was perfected after approximately 15,000 simulations and 72 prototypes. Unlike the Ai-ONE insert and Ai-ONE Titanium insert, the Ai-DUAL insert is made entirely of resin, with a soft resin on the side that strikes the ball and a hard resin on the inside.
The Ai-DUAL insert not only reduces ball speed but also suppresses backspin.
The boundary between the two resin layers has a complex, winding shape, similar to the underside of the Ai-ONE insert. This was developed by AI with a focus on imparting spin to the ball, in addition to the Ai-ONE insert’s consistent ball speed regardless of impact position. Generally, due to the gear effect, a ball tends to spin forward when it hits the upper part of the face, and backspin when it hits the lower part. Naturally, this also affects the ball’s rolling distance. The Ai-DUAL insert is designed to impart consistent forward spin regardless of whether it hits the upper or lower part of the face. Furthermore, because the bottom of the insert is flush with the sole, the unique shape between the two resin layers, created by AI, is more visible than the Ai-ONE putter, which has a clear polycarbonate window.
The isosceles triangle-shaped grooves also contribute to the forward spin and excellent roll.
The Ai-DUAL insert also features a new groove, the FRD (Forward Roll Design) groove, which contributes to the excellent roll. Unlike the Ai-ONE insert, the cross section has a unique shape consisting of a series of right-angled triangular depressions. The area where the ball hits the ball is angled 19 degrees from the vertical.
The Ai-DUAL insert offers a feel and sound closer to the White Hot insert
. The Ai-ONE insert was developed to be similar to the White Hot insert, but some users complained that it was “harder” and “higher-pitched” than the White Hot insert, likely due to its resin and aluminum construction. The Ai-DUAL insert is made entirely of resin, so it’s designed to have a softer feel and a lower sound than the Ai-ONE insert. The improved feel is also due in part to the adoption of the FRD grooves mentioned above.
The Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square 1/2-BALL Putter features a MAX type head with a large fan-shaped rear section that can be attached without tilting
. This head is paired with a black STROKE LAB shaft, made entirely of steel, weighing in at around 120g. As with previous models, it offers low torque and increases the putter’s overall moment of inertia. The grip is particularly noteworthy. It features the S2S Reverse Taper 2.0 OS Grip, which has a triangular cross-section and gradually thickens from the grip end toward the head end. This shape prevents unnecessary force from being applied to the right hand when using a standard grip with the right hand toward the head, enabling a more automatic stroke. The shaft also features a unique insertion method, passing diagonally through the grip. This allows the grip to be held at a standard putter angle, rather than appearing tilted like a shaft when addressing the ball. The putter is available in 33- and 34-inch lengths, with a 34-inch length for left-handed players. Customization is also possible.
